All that glitters isn't gold...

Prepping: The Big Weekend...

"OMG Cherri (lovestruck bbm face) what brand is that?"

"How much?"

"Where did you do 'em?"

"They're so lush!!!!"

What am I talking about I hear you ask? Well...these were just some of the responses I had when I uploaded the pic of my latest acrylic nail choice...

The Brighter the Better!

The only downside to this polish is the fact that the coloured flecks are a little annoying if they are near the edge of your nail.

Defo getting this "colour" again - my new fave?

HOWEVER - I have a "go to" nail varnish that without fail I always go back too, and has been for  too long now, "Cyan".
I CANNOT get enough of this colour.
Whether I have acrylics, or my own nails I always revert back to my trusty Cyan.
The way the colour just pops makes me smileee...

CYAN!

Whenever we do "experience" summer in London, or I'm off on holiday I have to draw for the neon polish.
Call it "Ghetto" "Loud" or "Garish" - but I bloody LOVE it!! - Neon Pink baby!!!

Think what you like, I LOVE it!

I say these are my faves, but really and truly I just adore too many colours in general...

"What's next I hear you say?"

"Well, who knows" LOL.

The only time we don't speak is durin' Sex and the City...

 Love.

Ain't it funny how time flies?
You blink and bammm! years have flown by!

The idea for this post came after watching Barack and Michelle's first dance at the inaugural neighborhood ball and each and everytime it has me beaming. I just love LOVE.

I have been blessed to have my partner, bestfriend and... looool rolled into one and look forward to creating more memories together.
We regularly joke about how life will be when we are old and grey and I have demanded a pink swarovski walking stick/wheelchair (which I will need first!) PMSL.

May be from a film (One of my faves might I add!), but I LOVE the message,
Every King needs his Queen.

No but seriously, with our own anniversary fast approaching and acknowledging the fact we are only getting older I can only hope that we continue on our current path and cannot wait for all the adventures yet to come.

Obama's been smooth from day 1.

Love these two.

Girls, "The forehead kiss", need I say more?

Growth.
Still doing it.

I adore this pic

POW

Him and I.

Hot Chocolate.
Looool I look so damn pale next to him!

Just Dye already!!!

Cherri's Hair Chronicles.

Hey there dolls,

So for those that follow me on twitter will know from time to time I rekindle my love affair with one of the many addictions I have in life, this one being the love of Dye.

I CANNOT get enough of it.

The latest colour I had was not for the faint hearted, and even though I'd had it before a few years back, even I was shocked when I saw the end result! LOL.

Anywho, some have shown an interest in what colour's I've had previously and what's next, so I thought I'd share SOME of my past affairs with colour in the meantime as I decide what I wanna do next!

So - here they are! :D in no particular order!

Purple Haze
Definitely one of my fave Dye experiences thus far!
Might have to go back! LOL
The first time I ever cut my hair off! I just told the hair dresser "Hack it!"

This was when I attempted to restrain myself from hacking my hair off! (sidenote: I ADORE when my hair is short short!)

Goldilocks!
Couple years back I added midnight blue!

After I hacked it off and had started to grow back! -
LOVE this length!

Honey Blonde once again!

Another of my personal fave Dye moments - PINK!!!

Loves me some Honey Blonde

My creation - Mixing bright pink and fire red together = Cherri madness!

Me today! - Back to Blonde - But for how long? LOL

Thanks for reading dolls,

Power.

"American Dreamin'" @S_C_ @Beyonce @BarackObama

A picture definitely worth a thousand words.

JayZ entitled it "American Dreamin'", I say Power.

Not a fashion related post, but I just checked my facebook and saw that my uncle (Yes I refer to Jigga as my Uncle lol), Mr Shawn C.Carter had uploaded this snap and it has me grinning from ear to ear.

Check it out for yourself and see if you too don't feel the same.

I shall say no more.

American Dreamin'

One of the best days of my life, thus far...

What happens next?

2012.

Can't believe it's nearly over.

I feel like it was only yesterday I was celebrating NYE.

I'm really looking forward to the next couple of months though.

This year has been a year that I can honestly say was a very trying one! - that's putting it lightly. Believe me.

I'm sure some of you reading this will be nodding along when you realise what i'm referring too - yep yep - 3rd Year of Uni!!! aka HELL!

Those that don't know me personally, won't know that I have and battle recurring illnesses over the last couple of years, scoliosis, (the base of my spine is curved - VERY painful, my back swells up on the left regularly), being just one of them, which has led me to fight my way to the end of completing University. Only God knows how many times I was on the edge wanting to give up and just call it a day.

But my support system wouldn't let me.

  • My Mum's theory was simple. "Do your best Monique.Your best is good enough".
  • My Mr would re-read all my work, help me change it up where it needed that lil extra touch and would help me construct my plans for slaying each essay.
  • My friends had way more belief in me than I did myself, and would message me constantly checking I was doing my work and pushing me to keep going.

Stars, the lot of them.

With their help, I made it to the finish line.

When graduation day finally came I woke up that morning bright and early and felt excited and anxious.

I couldn't wait to see all my uni peeps since we'd finished.

I'll never forget my uni experience.

It was one of the best times of my life that I will cherish forever.

I met people from different walks of life that I would never have met and ones I hope to keep and   have in my life from here onwards.

"A girl can NEVER have too many shoes"

The quirkier the better! - Walk this way: Just a FEW of Cherri's faves!

Heyyy,

So I've been asked a few times about my shoe collection, so what better way than to just show a few of my faves, ones that I could actually get too! LOL.

For those that have seen my collection with their own eyes, when i say I have A LOT of shoes alone, this is classified as an understatement!

In my room at the moment I have over 60 pairs of shoes, not including 6 big totes that have more contained in them and over 20 clear individual boxes.

Addict much?

*roars with laughter*

ANYWHO...

So, first things first, these babies. As soon as I saw them online, I didn't even hesitate to "add to bag" then "checkout". *Whispers* then I purchased them in the purple/black and bronze version too.

I have this habit of purchasing shoes that I fall in Love with in the other different versions if I can't make up my mind. (Office).
There's no harm in having two of the same, is there? LOL.
LOVE me a blocked heel +  uber love the side detailing,

These sexy beauts haven't even been worn out and about yet. They are mega high, which I loveee, but I just haven't bothered to "Bring em out, bring em out" (Jigga voice) yet.
They're still a fave pair of mine! I WILL find somewhere to roc' em!

(River Island) - Grrrrrr!!!

Now these heels are a very important pair that I value a hell of a lot. These were brought for me and were one of my Christmas presents from my Mr a few years ago (he's got great taste). When I wear em I feel so good, and they really set a simple out orfffff! LOL.

Treasured (Topshop) beauties.

Seeing this snap makes me want to pull these babies out and rock em the next time I have a night out. TOTALLY forgot I owned em. Seeing them again, I've fallen in love with them all over again. Last time I rocked these, to the recording of Beyonce's television special, I received countless compliments, which was great, and they are mega comfy!

Cut it out!!! (Matalan).

I remember seeing these online and thinking instantly these were made with me in mind. I don't own many black heels and the bright pink heel was what sold em to me! They are uber comfy and just add a splash of colour to spice up your outfit. I wore these to one of @Lookmagazine 's Look Shows to clash with my bleached Topshop Jamie jeans. Love em!

These shoes were made with me in mind. I'm sure of it.

My Mum and Dad have so much style, that when my dad copped me these I was grinning from ear to ear! The heel detailing just makes them stand out that little bit more. I've worn these a few times, but River Islands sizes are a little annoying when it comes to buying their shoes. I'm a size 6 but this shoe style in a 6 just fit, and the 7 is too big, so I've had to invest in thick insoles.

These were one of my birthday presents from last year from my Dad. My Mum and Dad are on point when it comes to style.
The heel detail - LOVE!!!

I adore tribal print and wedges are one of the most comfy style of heels I like to wear. And when they are both flung together into one shoe, they become mine! LOL.
These are mega cute and even though I've got skinny mini ankles, I was surprised that they fit perfectly and are secure around my ankle. Love the lil beaded extras too. Vamps it up a tad!

Tribal mad!!!

You can NEVER have TOO many shoes! End of. LOL.

Just a few! LOL.

And last but not least, my faves. These heels are everything to me. Platform, Check. Colourful, Check.
I saw these in a magazine, then tried to find them in store and they were all SOLD OUT! :(
Forgot about them, but then went shopping and randomly asked the sales assistant if they had them in even though I didn't see them on the shelves. She was like "Actually, one sec, I think we do." - and ta daahhhh...they had them. The last pair of size 6. Tried them on, went to the till, paid. In and out in less than 10 mins! LOL.

I Love You - PPQ

These were made with me in mind, I just know it. LOL.

So there you have it dolls,

Just a few of my faves.
